Hi Helen, I can so relate to this one, many times I have found that during my deepest trials, was the time I had grown the most. It has been during those "storms" I developed a deeper revelation of GOD'S LOVE and GRACE. I love Springtime, the
blossoms and flowers, but I suppose without the cold winter I probably would't appreciate the beauty of Spring. I love the following quote you have written, "at the end of the day, it is not our performance that counts, but that we stay in relationship with Jesus", a poem I wrote about JESUS with me in the storm.

The Storms of Life, they come and GO
I will Hold on Tight and NEVER LET GO
I TRUST YOU JESUS
Faith is The Anchor for my Soul
Faith and Hope, Pray and Obey
There is NO other Way
To Calm the Storm and Settle the Sea
To See Revival Inside of me

STRENGTH, and Safety in CHRIST Alone
TRUST, Pray and Obey
OVERCOME, and Stand Firm, be Strong and of Good Courage
READ, Rejoice and Remember the WORD of GOD
MEDITATE, on the WORD of GOD make Melody in your heart to the LORD
SHINE, HIS Glory

Only my Heavenly FATHER knows, How the Wind Blows
How to Settle the Storm and Calm the Sea
How to See Revival Inside of me
Only my Heavenly FATHER knows, How to Unfold
The Precious Promises HE has Foretold

This One Thing I know
I will Believe and I will Trust
Pray and Intercede I Must

Just like the Petals of the Flower I See
My GOD can UNFOLD all Things
For You and for Me
My GOD is GREAT and HE is STRONG
HE gives to me a New Melody
HE gives to me a New Song

Poem By Irene Kyriacou

Hi Stacey,
Yes it can be a fine balance...on one hand we should submit our prophetic counsel to wise counsel and leadership and be willing to listen and respond when they express caution. On the other hand, we need to choose carefully who we share with. Some people (even 'friends') will always try and pull us down and dampen our faith!

The following verse comes to mind for you:
'So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.' (Heb 10:35-36)

I'm glad I found your article. I received a personal prophetic vision about 4 yrs ago. Not having had any experience with the prophetic before almost caused me to give up. I had no idea that when one receives a true prophetic word, that so much opposition would pop up. The worst was when I tried to share the vison with other Christian "friends." I had always thought that when on receives a word, we were to check it out with fellow Christians. When I did that, I got SLAMMED with criticism and thought for awhile that maybe the word was false. This article was a nice reassurance.

Thanks Jason, that's great!
The trial of a prophetic word or call from God is certainly a theme throughout the whole scripture too. Abraham, Joseph and David come to mind immediately.
As much as I would like to have the fulfilment of a prophecy come quickly, trial, not ease, is the Biblical principle. And as you say, we need look no further than Jesus' own ministry to see that in action.

The example is in jesus own situation. When he was commissioned/recieved his prophetic word from John, he was immediately given 40 days of difficulty to endure. It is almost expected that when you receive a word, you will come against trials. Great advise though Helen. Enjoyed the read
